in Taos

A familiar view from the bathroom window. Sunlight in the winter helps, believe me.

Howdy John, 16 degrees is a bit much.It may be in the forties here tonight, but man the cedar is ever present.John Clay and I went to a AFTM mid winter fest down in the Dougherty arts center on Barton springs. One of features was a West Texas set of John C’s tunes, preformed by Christy ,Polombo ,Foster, and Her Husband Daniel, plus Ralph White, on fiddle.I”ve heard them rehearse and they they are a treat.I It was a short set 30 min or so “West Texas Song”,”Morgan Williams”,”Brenda”, “Anson Runaway” “Buddy”, “Mocking Bird Song”. Even though the sound at the event sucked ,I could still hear the lyrics.I’m always surprised that people swarm John if he there ,with very nice comments and compliments and they always want a CD or a site address.Just received a New CD from Powell St. John, of him doing three or four Clay Tunes. He has even written a “Ballad of John Clay”. Which is a bit Corny. I am still in Treatment and I get three month evaluation tomorrow up in Temple TX.I pray God gives me more time ,my son is just at the point I need to be on Hand.Think I will teach him how to drive tomorrow,I know he is going to wreck my spiffy old BMW. He and a neighbor kid went joy riding in my neighbors car last night,as waited a long hour or so for the “bad boys “return with the car I alternately worried they would wreck or get caught then I remembered when I had pulled a similar stunt when I was in the ninth grade circa 1956 in San Antonio,TX. I never got caught like my kid seems to do.He is six foot two ,200 pounder, just turned fifteen, and he has discovered girls or one anyhow.I think the world is going very fast for him . i want to attach a mp3 to this post but i do not know how .i will go to my email address book an do it there. later Leo
