Solid ice several inches thick! If I had skates, I go go for miles on this frozen irrigation ditch.

OR….if you wanted to feel a bit like a Canadian….you could do a bit of “CURLING” on that ice……but you might have to ‘sweep’ the snow for a LONG time before that ‘Stone’ came to rest…..HA!

Actually, the willow shoots that grow back out of the bank every year would make it hard to skate in some stretches. WHAP! WHAP! WHAP! and all. Plus there are occasional little bridges, culverts, that kind of thing. But in the immediate neighborhood, and not counting “portaging” over obstacles, one could still go for miles, absolutely.
