these two photos are beautiful – i’ve been in the panhandle,back in the late 60s, and missed these color combination – are these colors throughout north central new mexico?

David, the only places I’ve seen colors like that in the Panhandle are in the canyons like Palo Duro and Caprock. Where the underlying colors are exposed. I do remember a lot of red dirt around Abilene around 1960, though. That’s not the Panhandle, but getting close.

There are similar colors in places in north central New Mexico, as well as elsewhere—driving from Abiquiu to Coyote comes to mind—but we have so much variety here. And I live on the edge of a big national forest, so this area is actually very green.
