They gather by the dozens to fly up into the canyons to roost. This is one of the staging areas. Note the 3-D effect!

Superb, John. You have captured a moment in time, one of those moments we all have when something very ephemeral and lovely comes into vision and because of the speed of the moving light, we know will very shortly be gone.
I am enjoying Buffalo Lights and I have a silly question. Are they front or tail lights? Sorry, couldn’t resist.
It was a moment, all right. Five seconds later, it was gone!
And I think the buffalo lights are navigation lights, up on the hump…
