liza myers October 5, 2009 at 1:48 pm: Riding up into the Rio Grande headwaters. I rode that train in 1975. It’s the one that goes from Alamosa isn’t it?

Last time I rode it we saw bear, elk, and deer.
It is the premier narrow guage in the country, and worth every penny. (A shameless plug–my dad helps run it).

I think that train ride is one of the best damn things in the world. I’ve only ridden it from Chama to Osier and back, but next year I’m doing the whole trip!
